Please send us a message to info@afriendinrome.it to add other apps that you found interesting and we&#8217;ll improve the list little by little.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Museums and churches<\/strong> &gt; the app <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museiitaliani.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Musei Italiani<\/a> allows you to check infos on most of our State museums and also book some of them, for instance the Pantheon here in Rome.\u00a0 The app <a href=\"https:\/\/dindondan.app\/it\/orarimesse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Din Don Dan<\/a> gives you the opening times and mass schedule of most churches in Italy, useful to attend\u00a0 a service or to avoid it when you wish to visit an artistic church (which is not possible &#8211; of course &#8211; during mass. Still &#8220;unpredictable service&#8221; can happen, like funerals, weddings or pilgrims masses)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Taxi:<\/strong> you can use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uber.com\/it\/it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Uber<\/a>, and you find both the private black vans and the\u00a0 public white cabs in the Italian version of the app. Otherwise the apps to call a taxi in Rome are <a href=\"https:\/\/ittaxi.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">itTaxi,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.free-now.com\/it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Free Now<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/apptaxi.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App Taxi\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Trains:<\/strong> we have two main companies working in Italy, <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.lynxspa.prontotreno&amp;hl=it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trenitalia<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=it.italotreno&amp;hl=it&amp;pli=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italo<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>E bikes and scooters<\/strong>: the sharing companies you find in Rome are <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.limebike&amp;hl=it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lime<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.ridedott.rider&amp;hl=it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dott<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.mobime.ecooltra&amp;hl=it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cooltra\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Public transportation<\/strong>: with <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.tranzmate&amp;hl=it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moovit<\/a> you get help to use public transportation in Rome.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Water fountains<\/strong>: we have tons of public fountains in Rome, enjoy our free fresh safe water and <em>don&#8217;t buy another overpriced plastic bottle of water.<\/em> Use <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=it.acea.waidy&amp;hl=it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Acquea<\/a> to locate the closest water point.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Toilets:<\/strong> exactly the opposite of the above, we have very few public toilets, that&#8217;s why the app <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/it\/app\/wc-roma\/id698710149\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WC Roma<\/a> is useful<\/li>\n<li><strong>Luggage deposit<\/strong>: you can find a close spot to store your luggage with <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.usebounce&amp;hl=it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bounce<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[revised February 2026] When in Rome&#8230; use the apps the Romans use!
